Sonar is a type of remote sensing map, which involves the detection and measurement of radiation of different wavelengths reflected or emitted from distant objects or surfaces. Sonar stands for sound navigation and ranging and is based on the transmission of sound waves through water. Sonar sensors record the amount of energy back-scattered from the bottom of the ocean or from objects in the ocean.
